True BASIC is an easy-to-use programming language for writing text-mode
and graphics utilities. The language is fully structured and supports
X Windows and the Graphics Library. Programs written in True BASIC can
be run with little or no modification on Macintoshes and PCs.
The version of True BASIC included with the Developer Toolbox includes
a fully functional version of the language with a 250 line limit on
programs. This version will let you write utilities for converting
file formats and writing interapplication hooks (see the PIPE and CHAIN
commands). You can also write sophisticated graphical applications and
image processing tools as exhibited by the accompanying demo programs.
For development of commercial applications, we encourage you to
purchase the complete development package available through True BASIC
at (800) TR-BASIC.

The True BASIC Language System will let you write utilities and graphical
